The roots of Georgia Tech’s Pride Alliance were established in 1982. From a small support based group to the activism and service based organization of today, the organization has grown tremendously while its members continually push for change.
The LGBTQIA Resource Center has programs, services, and resources for all members of the Georgia Tech community, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. You can find their office in the Flag Building, suite 140 (353 Ferst Dr NW). Visitors are welcome Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Tegra Myanna (they/them) is the LGBTQIA Resource Center Director and William Britto (he/him) serves as the program coordinator for the center!
Grad Pride is a student org run by LGBTQIA grads, post-docs, and allies at Georgia Tech. We meet few times a month for social mixers and professional development activities.
GT's health services are trained to deal with LGBTQIA-specific health issues and needs.
The WRC is a safe space for women that offers programming, crisis intervention and resource information in a supportive environment.
The Counseling Center provides counseling and psychotherapy to students as well as a broad range of developmental, outreach, and consultative servies to the GT community. 24-hour Consultation Line/Contact: 404-894-2575
Diversity Programs provides an institutionalized approach for meeting the co-curricular needs of students by coordinating and planning educational opportunities that enhance interaction and learning across groups. Diversity Programs works to eliminate discrimination and acts of intolerance on campus. Acts involving students or student groups should be reported to the Associate Dean of Students.
Georgia Tech's Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) pharmacy benefits cover hormone treatments. It does not, on the other hand, cover gender alignment surgery. If you're on a different insurance plan, talk to your provider. Note that doctors at Stamps Health Services do not prescribe hormones; however, they will provide referrals to off-campus practitioners if required. If you have any questions, contact Shan Baker.
If you choose to undergo hormone therapy during your transition, HealthLabs.com is available for hormone monitoring and testing. HealthLabs.com recommends always working with a specialist when in a transitional period to set goals and determine what needs to be monitored through blood work.
Georgia Tech has gendered housing on campus. If you're uncomfortable living in a situation that doesn't align with your gender identity, the Department of Housing is here to help you.
If you're a first year, contact Brett Hulst, the Assistant Director of Housing for Freshman Experience. If you're not a first year, contact the central housing office at (404)894-2470 Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm. They are both more than willing to help find a housing solution that works for you.

Georgia Tech recognizes that "as long as the use of a chosen/preferred name is not for the purpose of misrepresentation" they will acknowledge that a chosen/preferred name should be used whenever possible in the course of conducting daily business and in the educational process. Georgia Tech will permit any student who wishes to do so to identify themselves within the student information system with a chosen/preferred first name and/or a middle name or initial in addition to their legal name. It is further understood that the student's chosen/preferred name should be used in Georgia Tech communications and reporting, except where the use of the legal name is necessitated by business practices or legal requirements. To change your name legally in Georgia, this is a good starting place. Once your name is changed legally, you should contact the registrar, Reta Pikowsky to get it changed at Georgia Tech. If you want help changing the name that your professors call you or the experience in your lab or graduate program, contact Dean Stephanie Ray, the Director of Diversity Programs. Dean Ray can also help graduate students by providing coming out resources and workshops for graduate programs.

Every new building built on Georgia Tech’s Campus should have gender neutral bathrooms. The gender neutral bathrooms on campus should all be listed here. If you know of another gender neutral bathroom or have knowledge of the handicap accessibility or equipment (urinals, trash cans for menstrual products, etc) please email us and let us know.
If you are spending a lot of time in a certain area or building that doesn’t have gender-neutral bathrooms and you want them, then Dean Ray can help you make arrangements.
